JUNIOR HIGH TRACK

The Butler Junior High boys track and field team recently completed one of the most successful seasons in the program's history.

The Golden Tornado were 9-0 as a team and broke school records in the 3,200-meter relay, 100-meter hurdles, triple jump and long jump.

Logan Renwick broke all of those individual event records and was unbeaten in the long jump, triple jump and 100-meter hurdles this spring.

The 3,200-meter relay team of Jeff Tompkins, Eli Christy, Grant Baron and Evan Gomez set the school record with a time of 9 minutes, 11.42 seconds.

Butler's 1,600-meter relay unit of Tompkins, Gomez, Christy and Jake Thompson were undefeated on the year.

Also going unbeaten for the Tornado this spring were Gomez in the 1,600 meters, Tompkins in the 800 meters and Christy in the 400 meters.

Evan Long was the team's head coach, assisted by Chris Caton and Sarah Kelley.
