Lauren Northen and John Rutkoski of Forest Hills were united in marriage August 4 at Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh. The Rev. Rockwell Dillaman officiated. A reception followed at Schenley Park Cafe.
The bride is the daughter of Paul and Charlotte Northen of Bear, Del. Parents of the bridegroom are John and Kathleen Rutkoski of Butler.
The honor attendant was Nancy Nobel of Portland, Ore. Bridesmaids were Julie Ward of Pittsburgh, Jessica Nellis of Pittsburgh, Amanda Kramer of Cleveland and Emily Utz of Mars. Flower girl was Brenna Hunt of Mars.
Performing the duties of best man was Dave Wallace of Imperial. Ushers were Paul McGrath of Flowery Branch, Ga.; Scott McGrath of Sugarland, Texas; Anthony Closkey of Butler and Zachary Northen of Pittsburgh.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of West Allegheny High School. She graduated from Grove City College in 2003 and Arcadia University in 2006. She works as a physician's assistant at Fox Chapel Dermatology.
The bridegroom graduated from Butler High School in 1996. He received degrees from Duquesne University in 2001 and Temple University Medical School in 2006. He works as a surgical resident at Western Pennsylvania Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Following a honeymoon trip to Costa Rica, the couple is making their home in Forest Hills.
