Barr, Houghton
Maryanne Barr and Jeremy Houghton were united in marriage Oct. 11 at the Village Chapel of Bald Head Island in Bald Head Island, N.C. The Rev. Gerry Waterman officiated. A reception followed at the Shoals Club.
The bride is the daughter of James and Adella Barr of Mars. Parents of the bridegroom are Donald Houghton of Bucksport, Maine, and Margaret Houghton of Easthampton, Mass.
The honor attendant was Karlene Ma of Cornwall, N.Y. Bridesmaids included Heather Kelley of Wayne and Azizza Davis of Hanover, Md. Junior bridesmaid was Abigail Barr of Myrtle Beach, S.C.
Performing the duties of best man was Brandon Kelley of Wayne. Ushers included Garry Barr of Mars and Joshua Houghton of North Chelmsford, Mass. Junior groomsmen were Matthew Barr of Lexington, S.C., and Jacob Barr of Myrtle Beach.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Seneca Valley High School. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2007 from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University. She works for Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Va.
The bridegroom graduated in 1994 from Hampshire Regional High School and in 1998 from Villanova University. He works for Earth Tech/AECOM in Virginia Beach, Va.
Following a honeymoon trip to Tahiti, the couple are making their home in Norfolk.
