Police: Man offered pills to teen for sex
GREENSBURG — A former physician whose medical license was revoked following a conviction in what prosecutors called a sex-for-pills scheme 14 years ago has been charged with offering pills and cash to a teenager in exchange for sex.
Robert Franzino, 60, is charged with criminal solicitation, indecent assault on a person younger than 16 and promoting prostitution by a minor.
Franzino was arrested Sunday after authorities allege he set up a sexual encounter with the 15-year-old girl. He declined to comment at arraignment Monday and remains jailed in lieu of $500,000 bond.
