1:51 a.m. Tuesday — An Allegheny County man was arrested for drugged driving after police were called for a man asleep at the wheel of a vehicle on Route 68. Travis J. Zaborowski, 30, of Cheswick, was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving with a suspended license-DUI related, careless driving and reckless driving.Zaborowski was placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond following arraignment.9:39 p.m. Monday — Michelle Manges, 47, of Mars, allegedly was found intoxicated and with marijuana following a call for a disturbance at the Sheetz store on Route 8 South. She is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.3:13 a.m. Monday — A pickup driven by Joshua Mahood, 19, of Karns City, struck a deer on Route 422. He was not injured, but the truck had to be towed.Monday — Police reported that a student was found with suspected marijuana and other drug contraband at Butler Senior High School. Police did not release the name of the student, a girl, who is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.7:58 p.m. Friday — Garret Lander, 31, of Kittanning, was not injured when the car he was driving struck a deer on Route 422. The car had to be towed.Oct. 21 — Police charged William D. Hoch, 21, of Butler, in connection with a hit-and-run crash last month at Whitestown Road and Chesapeake Street. He is accused of rear-ending a vehicle that was in front of him.In addition to hit-and-run, Hoch is charged with giving false information to police, failing to stop and give information after an accident, driving with a suspended license and driving too fast for conditions.1:09 a.m. Oct. 15 — Three people were cited following an altercation at Old Plank Estates. Police said they saw Heather Smith, 31, of Butler, throwing items out of the window of an apartment at Jason Will, 29, of Butler, and a 17-year-old.Smith is charged with disorderly conduct and Will and the teen, of Lyndora, are both charged with public drunkenness. Police did not release the name of the youth, who also is charged with underage drinking.
Oct. 7 — Police charged a Beaver County man with stalking and harassing his former girlfriend stemming from a call from the victim last month in Evans City. The woman Sept. 30 told police that the defendant, Richard J. Klear, 41, of New Brighton, with whom she had broken up in March, had been sending her text messages and emails, and contacting her via social media.That same night, according to court documents, she reported that he had appeared at a home where she had been house-sitting for friends. She also told police that Klear had sent her videos of them in sexual acts as well as other lewd pictures and videos.Klear is charged with two counts each of stalking and terroristic threats, one count each of unlawful dissemination of an intimate image and defiant trespass, and four counts of harassment.
4:59 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Parker D. Dalton, 20, of Bradford, struck the back of a sport utility vehicle that was stopped for traffic on Route 8 in Brady Township. Police did not release the name of the other driver, a 16-year-old Butler girl.No injuries were reported. Police cited Dalton for following too closely to another vehicle.4:46 p.m. Monday — An unknown hit-and-run driver traveled off Country Lane Road in Franklin Township, damaging a yard and a tree at a home near the intersection of Dick Road. Police said it appeared the unidentified vehicle was traveling east on Country Lane Road when the driver ran a stop sign and went off the road.11:24 a.m. Friday — Three North Carolina women were injured in a two-vehicle wreck on Interstate 79 north in Worth Township. The crash occurred when a pickup driven by Amie C. Bumgardner, 43, of Myock, N.C., struck another pickup while attempting to change lanes.Bumgardner's truck continued onto the west shoulder and struck a hillside embankment, rolling over multiple times. She and her passengers — Jessica R. Smith, 45, and Val A. Evans, 24, both of Myock — all suffered minor injuries.The other driver, Matthew N. Harrison, 31, of Conneaut Lake, Crawford County, was not injured. Police cited Bumgardner for overtaking a vehicle on the left.Friday — Police are investigating a ChildLine report alleging a video of a sex act between two children, one a 13-year-old girl, in Slippery Rock was being sent to other children in the area. The incident is believed to have occurred between Jan. 1 and Oct. 19.Friday — A carburetor was reported stolen from a 1970s model Honda dirt bike on Mercer Road in Center Township. The theft occurred between Jan. 1 and Sept. 27. The vehicle part is valued at $20.
