Monday — Joseph G. Daye, 48, of Butler was charged with having a dozen empty stamp bags of suspected drugs and other contraband stemming from an incident last month on the 300 block of Broad Street. Police found him after they were called around 7:05 a.m. Oct. 15 for a man pounding on the front door of a home.Police said they suspected Daye was intoxicated and as he was walking away, an empty stamp bag of suspected heroin fell out of the front pocket of his hooded sweatshirt. He was arrested and searched, according to court documents, and found with 12 empty stamp bags, a crack pipe and a metal push rod.He is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.2:18 p.m. Friday — Cindy L. Anderson, 40, of Clay Township found with empty stamp bags containing suspected heroin residue following a traffic stop on North McKean Street. She is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and driving without a license.Nov. 5 — Gerry L. Kendall, 39, of Summit Township was charged with having heroin after police found him unconscious on a sidewalk last month at Jackson and West Brady streets. Police said they suspected he was impaired on narcotics when they found him around 5:10 p.m. Oct. 29.Kendall was eventually searched, according to court documents, and was found with five stamp bags and one empty stamp bag of suspected heroin. Kendall is charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia and public drunkenness.5:12 p.m. Oct. 29 — Charles L. Dufford, 75, of Butler Township was arrested after he allegedly contacted a 15-year-old Butler girl via Facebook messenger and solicited her for sex. Police said he admitted to messaging the girl and sending her inappropriate messages.Dufford was arraigned on a felony charge of unlawful contact with a minor. He is free on his own recognizance.
5:33 p.m. Friday — Tyler Kennedy, 18, of Butler was injured when a car rear-ended the motorcycle he was driving on the 100 block of South Duffy Road. Kennedy was stopped in traffic at the time. Kennedy complained of pain and was taken to an unspecified hospital by private vehicle. The other driver, Earl R. White, 41, of Butler, was cited for driving too fast for conditions and driving with improper tires.State Police, Butler8:33 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Jarred W. Thibault, 20, of Chicora rear-ended another car on Route 68 just east of Catalpa Road in Donegal Township. Javier E. Perez Rohena, 30, of Butler was the other driver.No one was injured in the wreck, but both cars had to be towed. Police cited Thibault for following too closely to another vehicle.12:18 p.m. Monday — Larry E. Sequete, 70, of Butler was injured in a two-vehicle collision in Center Township. The crash occurred when a car driven by Roger J. Karnes, 58, of Butler veered into the opposing lane while rounding a curve on South Benbrook Road just north of Lions Road, hitting the pickup truck Sequete was driving.Karnes' car, following the collision, struck a guardrail. Sequete suffered a minor injury, but refused hospital treatment.Police cited Karnes for driving too fast for conditions, driving on the wrong side of the road and a vehicle equipment violation.
