State Police, Butler
5:25 p.m. Thursday — Scott W. Braden, 32, of Meadville was arrested on a bench warrant in Worth Township and allegedly gave his brother’s name and date of birth. He was charged with providing false identification to law enforcement.
Tuesday — A pickup truck driven by Frank D. Gillen, 39, of Petrolia struck a utility pole along Route 38 in Center Township. Gillen lost control of the truck after driving over a patch of ice.
March 8 — Colin Zedreck, 29, of Seven Fields is facing DUI charges following a traffic stop for numerous vehicle violations on Route 228 in Adams Township.
Jan. 21 — Police said an unknown employee stole $100 from a cash register inside the Kay Jewelers store in the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
Butler Twp. Police
2:10 p.m. Friday — Jesse D. Carothers, 38, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after adult probation officers found a glass smoking pipe and a plastic bag containing suspected cocaine residue in his 500-block West Penn Street apartment. Carothers admitted to police that the items belonged to him.
3:06 p.m. Feb. 26 — A vehicle driven by Michael M. Steele Jr., 79, of Karns City collided with a car driven by Maureen L. Mulneix, 59, of Butler at the intersection of West New Castle Street and Mercer Street.
Police said Steele was driving south on Mercer Street when he failed to stop at the intersection. He was cited for a traffic sign violation.
State Police, Franklin
6:38 p.m. March 3 — Shawn M. Long, 45, of Petrolia was arrested for suspected DUI in a parking lot of a Sheetz gas station in Cranberry Township, Venango County.
