Boyle

Robert John Boyle, born Dec. 2, 1953, passed away Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026.

Bob was born and raised in King of Prussia, Pa., by his parents, John and Dolores Boyle. He lived near K of P for 43 out of 72 years, before moving to Cranberry Township for the last 29 years with his wife, Martha Blackstone. He was the oldest of five, including Pat, Mike, the late Denise, and Sally (Sean) Arney. He was the proud father of Melissa, Ryan and Colleen, and the beaming grandfather of Dylan, Kyra, Brynn, Cora and Axel. His sisters were exceptionally close to him, cherishing his kind, big brother’s heart.

Bowling cannot be underestimated as a core activity and staple in his life, ever since he learned the love of the game from his father and received his first bowling ball at the age of 8. Mars Lanes was a favorite venue, where his high score was 287. Bowling cultivated many friendships over the years on both sides of Pennsylvania. Helping people with their game was part of a routine which continued even after he could no longer bowl himself.

Golfing was another love which he learned from his father. He spent many hours conversing and “bantering” with whomever he was playing. Bob organized or played in several charity golf events including those benefiting Senior Olympics, Jumonville and others. He found joy in playing and watching volleyball, a passion he shared with several family members and friends.

Innumerable friends and other family members were important to Bob. He was active in Salem United Methodist Church in Wexford, where his affectionate teasing of parishioners and the pastor will be missed. He tried to learn everyone’s name, especially caregivers whom he deeply appreciated, and he never met a stranger. Duct tape and WD-40 were nearby to help him fix anything. He was called home to heaven knowing he was deeply loved by his family.

BOYLE — A celebration of life service for Robert “Bob” Boyle, who died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2026, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, at Salem United Methodist Church, 350 Manor Road, Wexford, PA 15090. Guests are invited to come early to greet Bob’s loved ones; church doors will open at 11 a.m. There will be a meal and time of fellowship after the service, also at the church.
