Group seeks $1M for blighted riverfronts
BLAWNOX — A group that hopes to redevelop 10 blighted riverfront properties in the Pittsburgh area is applying for a $1 million federal grant.
The Allegheny River Towns Enterprise Zone was created to redevelop former industrial properties in Millvale, Etna, Sharpsburg, Aspinwall, Blawnox, and O'Hara and Shaler townships. Those communities are all a few miles upriver of Pittsburgh.
