Slugging it out

Mars first baseman Suzanne Papik scoops up a throw to retire Hampton's Kat Bittner on Friday afternoon during the Planets' 8-7 victory over at Adams Elementary Field. The win improved Mars to 3-0 in Section 5-AAA play.

Codi Reed continued her torrid hitting with a grand slam, two singles and seven RBIs as the Knoch softball team routed Indiana 17-2 Friday afternoon.

Reed has 27 RBIs in eight games this spring.

Reed was also the winning pitcher for the Knights (5-3, 1-1).

Chandler Krewlow and Karsan Simpson belted home runs for Knoch, as well.
