Bridge restricted to 1 lane after crash damages beam
LANCASTER TWP — The bridge carrying Interstate 79 over East Lancaster Road has been restricted to one lane northbound between the intersections of Route 19 and Yellow Creek Road after a truck crash damaged a beam.
Also, beginning the week of May 5, East Lancaster Road will be closed so the bridge repairs can be made. A detour will be in place. The road is expected to reopen on May 24.
The work for this emergency bridge repair project includes the removal and replacement of two overhead beams.
A truck on East Lancaster Road earlier this month hit the bridge causing the damage.
This $500,000 project is being done by Thornberry Construction of West Sunbury and is expected to be done by August.
