Zambelli arrives at new offices

Company has room to hire

WARRENDALE — Two months after announcing a move to the Cranberry area, employees with Zambelli Fireworks are settling in this week at their new office location.

The move is the final step in the transition from the company’s former headquarters in New Castle to a location at 120 Marshall Drive in the Thornhill Industrial Park, Warrendale. According to Sandy McStay, human resource manager for the company, employees moved in last week and the first full day on the job was Monday.

“We are here,” she said, adding the move went smoothly. “It went as expected, and we’re loving our new space.”

McStay said a staff of about 12 made the move, with more hires possible in the coming months.

“We have space in the new location to make additional hires,” she said. “We’ll judge the need as we get into our season.”

Zambelli operated in New Castle for 124 years after being founded by Antonio Zambelli in 1893. The move coincides with planned growth and expansion at the company, which produces pyrotechnics displays in 24 states across the country each year. Locally, they have put on displays for various Butler County municipalities, and in 2013 took part in the Pyrotechnics Guild International meeting at Coopers Lake.

Company officials cited the Cranberry area’s accessibility to major road as one of the reasons for the move. The company also maintains a production facility in Edinburg in Lawrence County, and has regional offices in Boca Raton, Fla. and Lake Tahoe, Calif.
