Tuesday — Christopher B. Myers, 35, of Clay Township was charged with drugged driving stemming from a traffic incident last month on North Jackson Street.

Police said while on patrol they noticed a pickup truck going the wrong way on the one-way road before turning onto New Castle Street. It was subsequently found parked on the 300 block of West New Castle Street.

Myers, who was identified as the driver, told police that he was unaware that he was driving the wrong way. He admitted he was driving with a suspended license, according to court documents.

Police said they found pill bottles with water in them and what appeared to be a tourniquet-type device between the driver and passenger area of the truck, “both common indicators of heroin use,” a police affidavit said.

A search of Myers turned up two syringes, one that was loaded with liquid. He was arrested and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood draw.

Toxicology reports showed the presence of fentanyl, cocaine and marijuana in his system, documents said.

Myers is charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under suspension, driving a vehicle without valid inspection and driving the wrong way on a one-way street.

2:55 a.m. Feb. 16 — Joshua M. Ambler, 28, and Cursty S. McClure, 28, were both arrested following a domestic dispute at their apartment on Cornish Drive.

Police said when they found the defendants, both appeared to have injuries. McClure had a scratch on her left cheek and a red mark on her scalp that was still bleeding, according to court documents.

Ambler had red marks around his left eye and cheek area. When police asked him about his injuries, he told them it was “nothing.” He blamed McClure’s injuries on her tripping over a fan while they were arguing.

McClure, documents said, “insisted that Ambler did not strike her at any time,” according to a police affidavit.

Police charged each with simple assault. Ambler is free on $2,500 bail. McClure is free on her own recognizance.
