Jackson Twp. OKs new housing development
JACKSON TWP — The township supervisors Thursday night approved final plans for to a new housing development along Zehner School Road near the intersection with Lutz Road.
Glade Run Estates is proposed to be 19 single-family homes on 52.3 acres, with all the lots being between two and three acres big.
The property is being developed by Glade Run Enterprises of Ellwood City, which hopes to begin construction in late March or April.
Access to the new housing development will be off Zehner School Road.
The supervisors had previously granted a number of waivers to the development from the township's subdivision and land development ordinance requirements because of topography and property constraints.
Among the waivers granted are permitting the developer to build a cul-de-sac exceeding the maximum length of 800 feet, eliminating the requirement to provide side lots that are radial to street lines for four lots, and allowing steeper slopes for the retention pond.
The supervisors allowed a number of rights-of-way and other improvements along Zehner School Road and the intersection of Lutz Road that front the developer's property.
