Man accused of secretly videotaping preteen girl
MARION TWP — A township man is accused of secretly videotaping a preteen girl while she was in the shower of his home last fall.
State police Monday charged Matthew J. Martin, 43, with invasion of privacy, a misdemeanor.
A caseworker for the Butler County Children and Youth Services agency learned of the allegation and on Jan. 4 talked with the girl.
She told authorities that Martin admitted filming her with a hidden cell phone, according to court documents. She told her father, who contacted CYS.
That same day, police interviewed Martin at his house. He admitted surreptitiously videotaping the girl with his cell phone that he hid in the bathroom hamper, documents said.
An attempt to reach Martin's attorney, listed in online court records as Michael Zunder, was unsuccessful.
His preliminary hearing is set for May 3 at the office of District Judge Lewis Stoughton in Chicora.
