Parents of disabled man face charges
INDIANA, Pa. — Authorities have charged the parents of a mentally disabled man with endangering their son by using a leash to keep him from wandering from the house at night.
The parents of 30-year-old Thomas Ewing said earlier they meant no harm when they locked his ankle to a 12-foot chain leash and secured the other end to his bed frame. A welfare worker found him that way in the White Township, home and alerted police.
The man's father said earlier his son's wandering was prompting complaints from neighbors.
