Bernadette ‘Babs’ Genemore
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bernadette “Babs” Genemore, who left this world peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026.
Born Jan. 30, 1955, in Butler, Babs was the cherished daughter of Nicholas and Joann Kramer. She grew up in Butler, where she graduated from Butler High School, forming lifelong friendships and laying the groundwork for the loving family she would build.
Her kind spirit and artistic talents were apparent from a young age, and she carried these gifts forward throughout her life. In her personal life, Babs was blessed with a beautiful family. She was the loving wife of Mark Genemore, with whom she shared countless adventures and a profound love. Together, they nurtured a family that was the center of Babs’ world.
She was a devoted and caring mother to Shane and Brenna Genemore, always encouraging them to follow their passions and embrace the joys of life. Babs’ love extended generously to her grandchildren, Dominic Kusjaz, Reece Smith, Lilly Kramer and Kensington Kramer, with whom she shared endless laughter and joy. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye, and she delighted in spending time with them, whether crafting, storytelling or simply enjoying their company.
A talented artisan at heart, Babs had a profound love for designing and building wood crafts. Her creations were not just objects but expressions of her heart and soul. She found immense joy in attending craft shows, where she shared her work and connected with fellow artisans and enthusiasts.
Babs was predeceased by her dear brother, Timothy Kramer; sister, Anna Potwora; and is survived by her loving brother, Michael Kramer, who will forever cherish their shared memories and the bond they nurtured throughout the years.
Throughout her life, Babs demonstrated an unwavering commitment to her family and community, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a kind word. Her legacy is one of love, creativity and compassion, leaving and indelible mark on all that knew her. To honor Babs’ memory, that family suggest donations to be made to a charity of your choice, reflecting the generosity and love that she shared with the world.
As we remember Babs, let us celebrate the beauty she brought into our lives and carry forward her spirit of kindness, creativity and love. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our hearts.
