SLIPPERY ROCK TWP — Slippery Rock High School will hold a veteran's recognition night on Sept. 12 during a pre-game ceremony at the Slippery Rock versus Grove City football game.

Veterans who reside in the Slippery Rock or Grove City communities are welcome to be involved.

GROVE CITY — The Celebration Community Ringers Handbell Choir will host a “Handbell Open House” from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Tower Presbyterian Church, 248 S. Broad St.Members from the organization will be on hand to educate guests of all ages about handbells, regardless of musical background.The event will include information and introduction to handbells for those who are curious, hands-on ringing demonstrations, basic instruction for beginners and skills workshops for experienced ringers by national clinician Sue Garton.Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is requested if possible so the group can better prepare.The Celebration Ringers currently include members from various churches in Grove City, Slippery Rock and Mercer.Rehearsals will be Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m. at Tower Church beginning in September.For more information or to sign up for the open house, call Tower Church at 724-458-7260 and leave a message for D.J.
