Geospatial to buy ShaleNavigator

BUFFALO TWP — Geospatial Corp. is buying ShaleNavigator.

Geospatial used technologies to determine the location and position of underground pipelines, conduits and other underground infrastructure data to create maps.

ShaleNavigator is a cloud-based, interactive mapping software product with more than 20 map layers with information about the oil and gas industry including permits, well results, lease offers, available property and pipelines.

Edward Camp, the founder of ShaleNavigator, will join Geospatial as a team leader.

“Ed has done a fabulous job of creating ShaleNavigator and growing it into the premier oil and gas website providing valuable insight and information to critical players within the Marcellus and Utica regions,” said Geospatial CEO Mark Smith.

The sale price was not released. The sales agreement is expected to close in October.

Geospatial, which was founded in 2007, has 18 employees.
