GROVE CITY — Police are seeking an unknown knife-wielding man who robbed a West Main Street convenience store late Monday night.

The man, dressed in dark clothing and wearing a white bandanna over his face, just before 11 p.m. walked into the Country Fair brandishing a small knife.

“It had a 3- to 5-inch blade,” said Grove City Police Chief Dean Osborne of the knife.

The suspect confronted a clerk at the front of the store and demanded money. He made off with an undisclosed amount of currency and was seen walking east toward the McDonald’s restaurant.

There were no customers in the store at the time and no one was hurt.

Osborne said a second employee was in back of the store but apparently was unaware of the holdup.

Police have no suspects and as of Tuesday afternoon had received no tips to aid their investigation. Store surveillance video apparently also was unhelpful in identifying the robber.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-458-7925.
