Harvest Hoedown returns Oct. 10

It benefits Glade Run Foundation

FRANKLIN PARK, Allegheny County — Glade Run Foundation will have the second annual Harvest Hoedown Benefit on Oct. 10.

The hoedown will be from 6 to 10 p.m. at Blueberry Hill Park Activity Center in Franklin Park.

The event will feature a performance by The Allegheny Drifters, a Pittsburgh-based bluegrass band.

Last year’s event raised about $10,000 for the foundation, said executive director Shelia Talarico.

This year the event has more sponsorships and the foundation hopes to raise about $25,000, she said.

The foundation collects donations that go to services offered by Glade Run Lutheran Services.

“We support about 4,000 individuals every year, primarily traumatized youth. The money raised through special events helps to support their needs: both therapeutic needs and basic needs,” Talarico said.

Tickets cost $35 for adults and $10 for children 12 and younger.

The event will include barbecue, beer and live and silent auctions.

Limited tickets are available. To buy a ticket or find out more information, call 724-452-4453, Ext. 1277, e-mail cmartin@gladerun.org or visit gladerun.org.

Glade Run operates facilities in Zelienople, Pittsburgh, Cranberry Township, Beaver Falls and Butler.
