Business coming to RIDC

CRANBERRY TWP — A forklift equipment dealership based in Pittsburgh is likely coming to the Thorn Hill Industrial Park, meaning there soon might be only two open lots in the complex.

Ron Henshaw, Cranberry’s director of community development, said Burns Industrial Equipment is looking to build a 60,000-square-foot building on 6 acres.

The company, which operates in five states including Pennsylvania, is a supplier of material-handling equipment, Henshaw said.

The only hurdle left to clear for the company is a vote that will take place tonight at the Cranberry Township supervisors meeting. If the company gets final approval, Henshaw said crews could start building on the site soon.

“This is a pretty big deal,” he said. “This is only one of three parcels left in the RIDC. Our expectations are they will move pretty quickly with this.”

Burns Industrial is southwestern Pennsylvania’s dealer for Yale, Taylor, Taylor-Dunn and Combilift equipment, Henshaw said.

“We’re looking forward to them opening doors here and being a part of our community,” he said.
