Ex-member rejoins Mars board
ADAMS TWP — A 16-year veteran of the Mars School Board will serve out the term of Jane Dunn, who resigned from the board last month for family reasons.
The board on Tuesday night voted to appoint former board member Cynthia Yeager to the one-year term, which expires in December 2015.
The board amended Dunn’s resignation date from the original Dec. 22 to Dec. 16 so Yeager could take her oath and be seated on the board immediately.
Board President Dayle Ferguson said Yeager was originally elected in 1992, and served four terms.
“She was an active board member who worked on behalf of the students, staff, and the community to help envision and shape our district through its most accelerated period of growth,” Ferguson said.
Yeager and her husband, John, have lived in both Middlesex and Adams townships. They raised two sons, both of whom now have young families in the area.
“I’m glad to be of help,” Yeager said from her seat on the opposite side of the board from where she once sat. “It’s a short term, but I hope I can help the board out with their current issues.”
