EAST FRANKLIN TWP, Armstrong County — James Hile, 55, of Kittanning has been identified as the man who died after crashing his car into fuel pumps at a shopping center in the township Sunday evening.

Investigators said Hile apparently lost control of his vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. and slammed into gas pumps at the Shop ‘n Save at Franklin Village Mall.

A medical helicopter later flew him to UPMC Presbyterian hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:37 p.m., police said.
