Man guilty of assaulting infant

KITTANNING — An Armstrong County man is guilty of fracturing his 6-month-old son's skull. Christopher Ardellitz, 27, of Parks Township, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Police say Ardellitz told them he threw the child into a crib while arguing with the baby's mother on June 14, 2006.

Authorities say the baby's skull was fractured when it struck the crib or a hard toy.

Authorities say doctors also found signs of previous injuries and fractures that were not reported.
