Development will include shops
CRANBERRY TWP — Neighborhood shops will be part of the Bellevue Park development that is one of the gateways to the Dick's Sporting Goods Sportsplex at Graham Park.
Township supervisors Thursday evening approved final plans for Bellevue Commons, a 15,259-square-foot development which will include four one-story buildings along Graham Park Drive.
Each of the four buildings is designed for multiple tenants, but no tenants were identified by the developers.
Parking will be around the buildings as well as across Graham Park Drive, which will serve overflow parking.
Ron Henshaw, township director of community development, said the buildings and the streetscape such as street lighting, crosswalks and parking walls will pattern the designs that are incorporated in the neighborhood. There also be outside seating areas.
The development is adjacent to Bellevue Park, which has the designs for a small shopping area. Initially approved without any commercial buildings, Bellevue Park now mirrors Park Place, the other neo-traditional neighborhood that is the other main entrance to Graham Park off Powell Road.
Bellevue Park's residential development is designed to reduce traffic and sprawl. The designs are based on a concept that the homes, shops and businesses are within walking distance of one another.
The 293 residential-unit Bellevue Park on 121 acres off Rochester Road is to have a mix of multifamily units, townhouses and single-family estate homes.
The development, which includes parks and community buildings, is under construction.
