U.S. Postal Service hosts passport fairs
The U.S. Postal Service is hosting passport fairs at local post offices to help people obtain passports without scheduling appointments.
The Freeport Post Office, 415 High St., is hosting a fair on Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The Grove City Post office is hosting a fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
People must bring a completed, but unsigned DS-11, application for a U.S. Passport form, which can be found at the Department of State website at https://travel.state.gov/content/passports/en/passports.html.; proof of U.S. citizenship, proof of identity (valid driver’s license, government employee ID, military ID); photocopies and original copies of U.S. citizenship and identification documents (photocopies are sent with the application); appropriate payment (Acceptable forms of payment can be found on the Department of State website.); and appropriate passport photo if passport photo services are not available at the selected Post Office location.
Customers have the option of applying for a passport book, which is good for all international travel, or the passport card, good only for land and sea travel between the U.S. and Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Bermuda.
Passport card fees are $30 for adults and $15 for minors under 16, passport book fees are $110 for adults and $80 for minors, cards and books cost $140 for adults and $95 for minors.
