James B. Kelly Jr.
James B. Kelly Jr., 76, of West Sunbury Road, Boyers, died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday at his home after a sudden illness.
Born Oct. 31, 1930, in Marion Township, he was the son of James B. Kelly Sr. and Colena Steiner Kelly.
He retired in 1997 from General Electric in Grove City, where he was a foreman.
He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Murrinsville, where he helped with the church grounds maintenance.
Mr. Kelly graduated from Grove City High School.
He enjoyed gardening and working on his computer at home.
He also helped Northern Butler County Meals on Wheels deliver meals.
He was a veteran of the Army, having retired after 20 years of service in Korea and being discharged while in Germany.
Surviving are his wife, Marianne M. Sauzapf Kelly, whom he married on March 21, 1956; a daughter, Denise A. Kelly of Boyers; a grandson, Michael J. Kelly and his wife, Joanne M., of Hillards; a great-grandson, John W. Campbell; and a great-granddaughter, Trinity N. Kelly.
Also surviving are two sisters, Josephine Galla of Oil City and Pauline Errera and her husband, John, of Kent, Ohio; three brothers, Burdette Kelly and his wife, Wanetta, of Harrisville, Keith Kelly and his wife, Becky, of Emlenton, and Stephen Kelly and his wife, Peggy, of Kennerdell; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were two sisters, Sarah VanTassel and Joanie Kelly, and two brothers, Herbert and Francis Kelly.
<B>Kelly Jr.</B> — Friends of James B. Kelly Jr., who died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Larry E. McKinley Funeral Home</B>, 109 Emlenton St., Clintonville, with a prayer service at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Murrinsville with the Rev. Richard J. Thompson officiating.Interment will be at Epiphany Cemetery, Boyers.
