Francis 'Ike' Burkett
Francis A. "Ike" Burkett, 84, of Hooker died at 11:23 a.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1922, in Concord Township, he was the son of Franklin Otto and Sarah Eleanor Bell Burkett.
He was a World War II Army veteran and had been a blacksmith at Spang and Co. for 36 years.
Mr. Burkett was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church. He also was a member of the Butler Lodge 272, Scottish Rite of New Castle, Syria Shrine, Butler Caravan 14 and the Chicora American Legion Post 642.
Surviving are his wife, Grace E. Patterson Burkett, whom he married Oct. 3, 1952, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three sisters and an infant brother.
<B>BURKETT</B> — Friends of Francis A. "Ike" Burkett, who died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with lay minister David Adams officiating.Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery.Masonic services will be at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
