Middle school looks for votes to win prizes
Butler Middle School is seeking public votes in a national education contest that could win the district up to $60,000 in products and services based on the best innovation in education.
The school is competing in the Follett Challenge and has submitted a video that shows how the school educates students in ways that foster collaboration, creativity and critical thinking.
But Butler Middle School hopes to receive a significant number of votes since there are 10 People’s Choice prizes being awarded this year, $8,000 each. In addition, the number of votes a school receives factors into the competition’s overall scoring rubric, giving them a shot at the $60,000 grand prize or the $30,000 semi-finalist prize.
Votes may be cast online at follettchallenge.com, once daily from Feb. 8 to Feb. 12.
The grand prize winner will be announced April 26.
