Wayne H.W. Steinbeck, 81, of Summit Township, died Friday morning at Sunnyview Home in Butler.

Born in Mount Oliver, Pittsburgh, on Oct. 27, 1925, he was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Paul Steinbeck.

He retired after 57 years as a parts manager for American Contractors Equipment Corp. in Indianola, Pa. He and his wife also had owned Steinbeck's Home for the Aged in Mars for many years.

He had been a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars, and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Rowley Steinbeck, whom he married Aug. 5, 1950; three daughters, Mrs. Skip (Susan) Smorul of Cranberry Township, Mrs. Frank (Sandra) Reed of Florida, and Mrs. Tom (Ellen) Ganster of Shaler Township; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Wayne William Steinbeck.

Steinbeck, who died Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Kilian Church, Mars, at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Charles Bober, pastor, officiating.Burial will be in Mars Cemetery, Adams Township.Information is available and condolences may be offered at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
