G. Robert "Clutch" Kennedy, 67, of Mars died Wedn-esday evening at his home.

Born in Myoma, Adams Township, Dec. 27, 1939, he was the son of the late Preston B. and Edna S. Fiel Kennedy.

He was the owner of Bob Kennedy Auto Service in Mars for 37 years. He also owned Bob Kennedy Truck Parts, where he sold parts to restore 1948-1979 Ford trucks.

Mr. Kennedy was a member of the Old Union Presbyterian Church and the John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM.

He raced late models and coupes at dirt tracks from 1965 to the 1980s. He won point championships at the Butler Speedway and the North Hills Speedway in 1972. He was a lifetime member of the Pittsburgh Circle Track Club and was inducted into the Pittsburgh Circle Track Hall of Fame in 2001.

He was an avid NASCAR fan and attended the Daytona 500 every year for the past 42 years. He was active in local racing, attending weekly events at Lernerville Speedway and sponsoring teams.

Surviving are his wife, Carole Hackney Kennedy, whom he married Nov. 21, 1964; three daughters, Susan and her husband, Duke Loring, of Butler, Diane Harris of Valencia and Robyn and her husband, Butch Lambert, of Mars; and grandchildren, Alyssa and Austin Loring and Madison Lambert.

Also surviving are a brother, Charles Kennedy and his wife, Marge, of Mars; a number of nieces and nephews; and many good friends.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Kennedy Steffler.

Robert "Clutch" Kennedy, who died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, Union Church Road, Mars, with the Rev. Peter deVries, pastor, and the Rev.
