Katherine Geibel, 84, of Butler died at 6:47 p.m. Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born May 19, 1922, in Moerfelden, Germany, she was the daughter of Hans and Margarethe Weg Jost.

She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church.

She is survived by a son, Michael J. Geibel of Butler, and a step-sister, Irmgard Schmidt of Erzhausen, Germany.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin J. Geibel, who died July 7, 1998, and a step-brother.
