Woman faces hearing for suspected DUI crash
EAST FRANKLIN TWP, Armstrong County — A 29-year-old woman faces a hearing in June stemming from a suspected drunken driving crash last month that left her passengers — three young children — injured and in need of hospital treatment.
State police Monday charged Amber Lynn Lucas of Kittanning with driving under the influence, three counts each of child endangerment and reckless endangerment, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.
Police said Lucas lost control of her car about 10 p.m. March 17 and wrecked at East Brady Road and Pine Street in East Franklin Township.
The children — a 4-year-old boy and two 9-year-old girls — suffered unspecified injuries.
An ambulance took them to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin.
A police report did not indicate the relationship, if any, between Lucas and the children.
Her preliminary hearing is set for June 8 before District Judge James Owen of Kittanning.
