Ivan B. Longdon Jr., 80, of Saxonburg died Monday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born April 15, 1926, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Ivan Sr. and Rebecca Simpson Longdon.

He served in Europe with the Army's 1st Infantry Division, 26th Regiment, during World War II.

Mr. Longdon retired in 1988 as a mechanic at Carnegie Mellon University after 35 years. He also owned Ivan Longdon and Sons for 35 years.

He enjoyed woodworking and camping.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Eckel Longdon, who he married July 4, 1948; three sons, Ivan B. Longdon III of Sarver, Robert Longdon of Georgia and Bobby Longdon of Saxonburg; two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Hoerner of Valencia and Mrs. Curtiss (Barbara) Stone of Gettysburg; six grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

<B>LONGDON</B> — Friends of Ivan B. Longdon Jr., who died Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Fox Funeral Home</B>, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Roger Keller officiating.Burial will follow at the Saxonburg Memorial Church Cemetery.Information also is available at www.foxfuneralhomeinc.com.
