1:13 a.m. Saturday — Jeremy W. Green allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, 50-year-old Kimberly R. Werner, during a domestic dispute at their apartment in the 300 block of West Cunningham Street.Green was gone when police got there but he was arrested shortly after 7 a.m. following a traffic stop in the city. He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault and placed in the Butler County Prison.5:11 p.m. Tuesday — A disturbance call at a home in the 400 block of Shore Street ended with two people facing charges.Officers said when they got to the home they found Corey M. Johns, 37, of Butler seated on the curb arguing loudly with someone on his cell phone. When police questioned why he was there, he allegedly yelled obscenities at an officer.While the officer was taking Johns into custody, two women approached the officer, who told the women to stop. One of them, John's sister-in-law, Rebecca K. Proper, 27, of Butler, would not stop yelling and refused to leave, according to a police report. She, too, was arrested.Johns and Proper both face charges of disorderly conduct. Proper faces an additional charge of obstructing the administration of law enforcement.Tuesday — Police charged Wendy M. Dight, 40, of Butler with stealing $1,128 last month while she worked as a money counter at the Kmart store in the Pullman Square shopping plaza.A loss prevention officer on Aug. 29 notified police of the suspected employee theft that was captured on store surveillance video, according to a police report. The video allegedly showed Dight taking currency Aug. 15 in the store's money counting room.Police also reviewed the video and later tried to talk to Dight as part of their investigation. She refused, the report said, and instead told police that she wanted to speak to an attorneyDight is charged with first-degree misdemeanor theft.
Friday — Nicholas J. Rodgers, 25, of Butler was arrested stemming from a suspected $100 drug deal May 15 in Butler.Rodgers is accused of selling 10 bags of heroin to a police informant on North Main Street. Authorities in charging documents noted that the alleged deal happened within 1,000 feet of the Emily Brittain Elementary School and the Butler YMCA Day Care.The proximity makes the crime more severe for sentencing purposes.Rodgers was arraigned on charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $75,000 bail.
8:35 a.m. Sunday — A car driven by Michael A. Barkey, no age given, of Volant, Lawrence County, crashed over an embankment on Harmony Road just north of Arberg Lane in Mercer Township. Barkey, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered a minor injury.Sunday — An unknown thief stole 25 pieces of scrap tin and an old riding lawn mower from woods next to the owner's home on East Street Extension in Portersville. The theft happened between Friday and Sunday.Sunday — A 15-year-old girl was reported as a runaway after she left her home on Chestnut Drive in Center Township, and did not return. Faith Lynn Hustak is described as being 5 feet, 6 inches tall, about 170 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.Anyone with information about the girl's whereabouts is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.Friday — An Apple iPhone 5S cell phone was stolen from a 19-year-old woman's apartment on Vinyard Circle in Slippery Rock Township.Thursday — About 1,000 feet of copper wire, valued at $10,000, was reported stolen from a utility trailer. Tervita Corp. owns the property, which was stolen between June 4 and Thursday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.Thursday — An unknown vandal drove a vehicle through several rows of corn in a field on Carrara Road in Brady Township.Aug. 29 — About $1,080 worth of property was stolen in a burglary at an apartment at The Heights at Slippery Rock complex in Slippery Rock Township.
2:42 a.m. Sunday — Kyle Bailey, 22, of Parker was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his all-terrain vehicle struck a tree stump and rolled over several times along Keefer Road in Perry Township Clarion County. Bailey's passenger, Jeremy Slaugenhoup, 28, of St. Petersburg, Venango County, was thrown from the ATV.Bailey, who was wearing a seat belt, and Slaugenhoup, who was not belted, both suffered serious injuries; their conditions were not known this morning.11:43 a.m. Aug. 26 — Two Knox men are accused of shooting out a window of a 23-year-old woman's home at Route 368 and Lime Plant Road in Perry Township, Clarion County. Charged with criminal mischief are 21-year-old Donald Mansberger III, 21, and 22-year-old Joseph R.E. Parsons.
12:20 a.m. Sunday — A 33-year-old Ford City man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence at Route 66 and Fairgrounds Road in Manor Township.6:40 a.m. Saturday — A 57-year-old Kittanning man who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of DUI after his car struck another vehicle in the Walmart parking lot at the Hilltop Plaza in East Franklin Township.2:40 p.m. Friday — A 46-year-old Kittanning woman reported that someone stole her wallet from a shopping cart at the at the Hilltop Plaza Walmart in East Franklin Township.5:03 p.m. Thursday — Kenneth M. Bowers, 19, of Ford City was hurt when the car he was driving struck the back of another vehicle on Route 28 north in O'Hara Township, Allegheny County. The unknown driver of the other vehicle did not stop after the accident.Police cited Bowers for following too closely to another vehicle.Sept. 1 — An unknown thief took a 68-year-old Bradys Bend Township man's sport utility vehicle for a joy ride before crashing. The thief drove the disabled vehicle back to the owner's driveway in the 300 block of Kaylor Frogtown Road, and left.Anyone with information about the theft and is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.
6:09 a.m. Saturday — A pickup truck driven by a 16-year-old Grove City boy crashed and spun into a tree along North Liberty Road about one-half mile north of Route 258 in Liberty Township, Mercer County.
