A Penn State University senior may have been dead for several days before his body was found Monday at an off-campus motel in State College where he had been living, authorities said.

No foul play is suspected in the death of 25-year-old Charles Cudlipp of Richland Township, Allegheny County, according to investigators.

An autopsy Tuesday night did not immediately determine a cause of death, Centre County Coroner Scott Sayers said Wednesday. He was unaware of any underlying medical issues that might be a contributing factor.

Toxicology reports are pending and could take four to six weeks, but Sayers said no illegal narcotics were found at the scene and drugs are not a suspected factor in Cudlipp's death.

Cudlipp was a chemical engineering student and was expected to graduate this summer, according to a statement provided by the university.

Cudlipp's family told the Butler Eagle in a statement on Wednesday that Cudlipp was a 2011 graduate of Pine-Richland High School and wore No. 63 for the Ram's varsity football team.

State College Police Lt. Bradley Smail said the death is “under active investigation” but he provided no other details.
