BUTLER TWP — The Butler County Elections Bureau is conducting a workshop for candidates for local elected offices from 6 to 8 p.m. Jan. 23 at Founders Hall at Butler County Community College.

The agenda includes the election calendar, petitions, statements of financial interest and campaign finance.

County offices up for election in 2017 are the sheriff, coroner, controller and clerk of courts.

The district judge seats in Butler Township, Chicora and Saxonburg as well as seats on various school boards and municipal boards also are up. For voting precincts, there are vacancies for judges of elections, and majority and minority inspectors.
