A man reported down and out on the night of May 3 clad only in his underwear on a Butler street suffered an apparent drug overdose, city police said.

A Butler Ambulance Service crew used the opioid antidote drug naloxone to revive 29-year-old Travis J. Zaborowski.

He later admitted injecting heroin, said Butler police Deputy Chief David Adam.

The first 911 call notified authorities of a fight going on in the 300 block of North Sixth Avenue. A second caller mentioned the man being down and dressed only in underwear.

Police and rescuers got there and found Zaborowski, who was unresponsive on the sidewalk. He ended up there, according to a police report, after overdosing and “causing a scene while high.”

Ambulance paramedics administered a dose of Narcan, the brand name for naloxone. Zaborowski was eventually taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for further treatment.

He admitted using four bags of heroin, Adam said, but he claimed he couldn’t remember where he used the drug or where the empty bags were.
