Emma Rivers had six kills and four blocks while teammate Alyssa Patterson tallied eight kills in Knoch volleyball’s sweep of Blackhawk on Thursday.

Emersyn Jones added five kills and 10 digs for the Knights (6-3, 5-1), who won by scores of 25-20, 25-22 and 25-11.

Freeport 3, Deer Lakes 0 — The Yellowjackets (11-0, 5-0) shook off the Lancers with ease, winning by scores of 25-11, 25-12 and 25-14.

Jayme Radvan dropped 12 kills in the win and Emily Boylan had nine.

Caylee Zembrzuski finished with 38 assists and five kills.

A-C Valley 3, Karns City 0 — Gianna Louise and Arianna Adams both tallied seven kills for the Falcons, who swept the Gremlins by scores of 25-18, 25-14 and 25-19.

Lexi Altman added 16 assists in the win and Jacci Dehart five blocks.

KC’s Aubrey Fox had eight kills and Addison Fox 15 assists.

North Catholic 8, Riverside 0 — Jake Olkowski scored twice and Evan Sheree assisted on three goals as the Trojans (8-0, 5-0) remained undefeated.

Also scoring in the win were Ryan Mueser, Gavin Bartus, Jackson Schlegel, Colin Pilla, Ethan Parnell and Dylan DeVore.

Freeport 7, Knoch 0 — Xavier DeWitt scored four times and added two assists while Spencer Valasek tallied two goals and two assists for the Yellowjackets.

Wyatt Vivian added a goal in the victory.

Butler (321 strokes) tied for second and Slippery Rock (322) placed fourth at the 32-team Tam O'Shanter Golf Invitational in Hermitage.

The Tornado’s Levi McClellan finished tied for third in the individual standings with a 74. Teammate Karsten Lenyk and Slippery Rock’s Drake Kreutz tied for eighth at 75.

Moon's Matthew Koch was medalist with an even-par 72, helping the Tigers to the team title with 306.

Butler’s Cassie Busler and Lindsay Lipp both won in singles play while the doubles team of Devan Christofano and Cassie Sklencar was also victorious in the Golden Tornado’s 3-2 triumph against Montour.

WPIAL Class 2A — North Catholic junior Evelyn Marche missed out on earning a berth in the state tournament, falling 6-0, 6-1 to Winchester Thurston’s Veronica Zinski in the district’s consolation match at Bethel Park High School.

Only the top three players advance to PIAAs. Marche was seeded fourth in the tournament.

Riley Kontul carded a 39 and Brea Kelley a 42 to lead North Catholic to a tri-match victory at Deer Trails Country Club in Beaver County.

The Trojanettes finished with 171 strokes, Central Valley had 198 and Blackhawk 205.
