Dale E. Murdick, 78, of Butler died at 12:35 a.m. Sunday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 7, 1928, in New Kensington, he was the son of William and Elizabeth Swearingen Murdick.

He retired as a machinist at Halstead Industries, and he also was a bus driver.

Mr. Murdick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Butler.

He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Surviving are a daughter, Diane Brinks of Butler; a son, Larry Murdick of Evans City; four grandchildren, Kara and Ethan Brinks of Butler and Casey and Abbey Murdick of Evans City; four sisters, Pauline Guthrie of Garretsville, Ohio, and Helen Geibel, Naomi Cockroft and Doris Bowser, all of Butler; and five brothers, Roy Murdick of Export, Carl and Ira Murdick of Butler, Earl Murdick of Brooksville, Fla., and Grant Murdick of Phoenix, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn Ward Murdick, and sister, Ella Belle Murdick.

<B>MURDICK </B>— Friends of Dale E. Murdick, who died Sunday, April 8, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Ficca Funeral Home</B>, 203 E. Pine St., Grove City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church of Butler, 221 W. New Castle St., with the Rev. David Maitland officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.
