Collette A. Requate, 72, of Butler died at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born Dec. 22, 1934, in New Castle, she was the daughter of Alex C. and Cora J. Humble Rigby.

She was a member of the Second United Presbyterian Church in New Castle and also belonged to the International Society of Poets.

She attended Slippery Rock State College and Wayne State University in Detroit, and had been a case worker for the Department of Public Welfare before retiring in 1979.

Surviving are a brother, Wallace E. Rigby of New Castle; her longtime companion, Charles Bashline of Butler; and a number of nieces and nephews.
