McMarlin

Wallace R. "Wally" McMarlin, 84, of Pine Township died Wedn-esday morning at the UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born in Gibsonia, Aug. 3, 1922, he was the son of Laurel and Myrtle Beveridge McMarlin and was a direct descendant of one of the first families to settle in Pine Township.

He was a retired truck driver, stonemason and concrete worker for T.E. Hohman in Richland Township.

Mr. McMarlin was a life member of Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Gibsonia and also belonged to the Zelienople Hungarian Club, the Zelienople Elks, the Harmony Moose and John E. Mair Lodge 729 F&AM.

An Army Veteran of World War II, he was awarded two Bronze Stars and was a member of the Mars VFW Post 7505 and the Bakerstown American Legion Post 548.

Surviving are his wife, Audrey Davis McMarlin; three sons, Laurel McMarlin (Donna) of Guatemala, Wallace McMarlin (Evelyn) of Saxonburg and Zane McMarlin (Lois) of Gibsonia; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and an adopted spiritual brother.
