Joann Virginia Hallman, 61, of Walk Chalk, Armstrong County, died Saturday at ACMH Hospital.

Born in Walk Chalk, she was the daughter of Frank and Mary Toy Sr.

She was a member of the Victory Baptist Church.

Mrs. Hallman had worked at PPG in Ford City and retired from the PPG plant in Decatur, Ill. She loved crocheting and her flower garden and received a Courage Award from the American Cancer Society.

Surviving are her husband, Eugene Hallman, whom she married May 28, 1982; three children, William Tarr of Cowansville, Shelli Smith of Kittanning and Mark Smith of Green River, Wyo.; two stepchildren, Terry Hallman of Dayton and Kimberly Baum of Price, Utah; and 10 grandchildren. Four sisters, Mary Jane Wolfe and Sue Verner, both of Worthington, Donna Myers of Walk Chalk and Rea Michelle Smith of Florida, also survive.

A brother preceded her in death.

HALLMAN — Friends of Joann Virginia Hallman, who died Saturday, May 12, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the F. Duane Snyder Funeral Home, 424 Bear St., Worthington. Visitation also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Victory Baptist Church, where services will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James Herb officiating. Burial will be at the Lawn Haven Burial Estates.Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
