Duquesne is top green energy user
PITTSBURGH — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency says Duquesne University purchased more green energy than any other member of the Atlantic 10 Conference.
Duquesne is the winner for 2007-2008. Duquesne bought more than 13 million kilowatt-hours of green power, making up about 28 percent of the university's purchased electricity.
The EPA says Duquesne's annual use of green energy is enough to power about 1,000 American homes.
