You are comparing apples to oranges. Verizon is paying $28,000 for a full time, 40 hour a week/52 weeks a year job. Teachers get $28,000 for a 30 hour a week/ 36 weeks a year job. I've never seen Verizon offer their employees a 2 hour delay if the roads are bad. If they did, you can be sure they wouldn't get paid for those 2 hours..
