Put the contract to a vote, a vote by all the homeowners who flip the bill , taxes that is and let the tax payers decide the contract, the teachers do work for the public, hence the tax payers are your bosses. The school board member who mentioned bad teachers is 100% right. There were teachers who just sat there and made you read the text book. Boy i could do that and i do not have a fancy teaching degree. And by the way the lowest paid seneca teaching is paid 37000.00 . Not the low 30s . This is the starting point plus full benefits , snow days. Holidays frequent breaks,free parking.ect ect ect. 180 days work and alot of teachers have side, no tax paying income during the summer. No overhead painting jobs that put a strain on the legit painters and landscapers who pay taxes and insurance for their profession and along comes the teachers in the summer working for cash and lowball prices.
