PITTSBURGH — Police say they foiled one crime, but are investigating another related to the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl victory parade.

Five New York City men are in custody because state police say they found more than 600 counterfeit Steelers hats and T-shirts in their car when the men were stopped for speeding on the Pennsylvania Turnpike on their way to the parade Tuesday morning.

City police and Pittsburgh Public Schools officials say buses that carried bands from Perry and Carrick high schools were broken into during the parade. Students' purses and other items were stolen.

Bands from both schools marched in the parade.
