PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Parking Authority says a low-lying parking lot will close Thursday and Friday because minor flooding is expected in the area.

The Mon Wharf, along the north shore of the Monongahela River, is open today but will close the next two days because the river is expected to rise.

Lawrence and Jefferson counties in Western Pennsylvania continue to be under a flood warning. Most of Western Pennsylvania is under a flash flood watch.

PITTSBURGH — An audit of the transit agency that serves the Pittsburgh area shows its buses were often not cleaned on schedule, and that the agency spent money unnecessarily on picnics, snacks, flowers and charitable donations.The report is the third in a series by Allegheny County Controller Mark Flaherty whose office examined the 2007 maintenance and financial records from the Port Authority of Allegheny County.The audit shows that seat and hand rails on buses were not cleaned on schedule, and that maintenance sometimes lagged two months behind.

PITTSBURGH — The son of an 89-year-old dementia patient who was found dead on a hospital roof accuses the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center of negligence and trying to cover up the death in a lawsuit.Rose Lee Diggs went missing about 5 p.m. Dec. 2 and was found about 8 a.m. the next day at UPMC Montefiore. Police say she wandered through a fire door and up some steps to a rooftop door.
