ALTOONA — Police say a central Pennsylvania man accused of firing an assault rifle at his ex-girlfriend’s house had six homemade pipe bombs strapped to his body when he was arrested.

Police say 33-year-old Joseph Olecki also had an AK-47 assault rifle and more than 500 rounds of ammunition when he surrendered to police Monday in Altoona, about 85 miles east of Pittsburgh. They say he had another assault rifle in the vehicle he was driving.
